Play more to live and work better! (Includes story link)

Some research shows that playing is a key to self-improvement. For many years, children have been taught arithmetic, literature, civics, and other important topics by playing games about them.

Adults develop greater self-esteem, better listening skills, and understand cooperation with others better by learning Improv Games such as mine, for example.

My All-Star Trivia Games, and many other trivia and word games produced by others, also have educational components built in. Scientists sometimes refer to this type of learning as "Gamification". I know it works. It works for me. It works for young and old  as I watch Michigan State University Nutrition Instructors do games in their classes when I volunteer or take part in a class.

It worked at the American Red Cross when I was a nationally-renowned Volunteer Specialist, training mental health volunteers to go to the Pentagon and New York during 9-11. A state's Director of Emergency Preparedness asked me to come to his state and teach other Red Cross trainers my techniques!

For example, during the knowledge tests in one of my classes, I divided the students into teams and had them compete to shout out the answers. I was the "Host", not the teacher, and the students were the contestants.
